Export and import figures may differ in Statistics Sweden’s various statistical products in the Balance of Payments and the National Accounts. Estimates of foreign trade in services published as part of the Balance of Payments and the National Accounts may differ from the values published in the survey on foreign trade in services.
Work is underway to increase the agreement between the financial parts of the Balance of Payments and the financial accounts.

The current account surplus amounted to SEK 115.9 billion during the first quarter of 2024, which is an increase by SEK 11.5 billion compared to the first quarter of 2023. The increase is due to a strengthened trade balance, which is due to the import of goods decreasing less than the export of goods. At the same time, the deficit in trade in services decrease and affects the current account surplus in a positive direction.
