Labour Cost Index up 2.6 per cent for salaried employees

The Labour Cost Index for the private sector in April 2005 was 150.8 for wage-earners and 166.8 for salaried employees. Compared with April 2004, the labour costs have increased by 1.7 per cent for wage-earners and by 2.6 per cent for salaried employees.

Total labour costs were SEK 208.40 per hour for wage-earners and SEK 43 783 per month for salaried employees.

The total labour costs include pay for hours worked, pay for hours not worked, other cash payments and payments in kind, costs for additional pension benefits, other collective fees, contribution to the health insurance schemes, contribution to the national basic supplementary pension schemes, sick-pay and other collective fees, a special payroll tax.
