New orders and deliveries in industry, November 2009:
According to preliminary estimates, new orders increased by 2.1 percent from October to November. New orders for the last three months (September-November) increased by 2.6 percent compared to the preceding three months (June-August). New orders for November 2009 increased by 1.5 percent compared to November 2008.
New orders in October increased by 1.3 percent compared to September, implying a revision downwards by 0.2 percentage points compared to the first release of the results for October.The increase of 2.1 percent from October to November reflected a 1.8 percent increase in the domestic market and a 2.2 percent increase in the export market.The increase of 2.6 percent for the last three months compared to the preceding three months reflected a 1.6 percent increase in the domestic market and a 3.5 percent increase in the export market.New orders in the capital goods industry increased by 4.5 percent from October to November and by 4.4 percent in the last three months compared to the preceding three months. The increase from October to November as well as for the last three months is mainly explained by more new orders in the industry for manufacturing of computer, electronic and optical products (NACE 26) and in the industry for motor vehicles (NACE 29).New orders in the intermediate goods industry rose from October to November by 0.2 and by 3.1 percent in the last three months compared to the preceding three months.New orders in the non-durable consumer goods industry increased from October to November by 1.0 percent and by 0.4 percent in the last three months compared to the preceding three months.New orders in the durable consumer goods industry decreased from October to November by 5.7 percent, but increased by 4.4 percent in the last three months compared to the preceding three months.The total volume of new orders was up 1.5 percent for November 2009 compared to November 2008. This reflected a 0.9 percent increase in the domestic market and a 2.0 percent increase in the export market.New orders for October 2009 decreased by 13.4 percent compared to October 2008, implying a revision downwards by 0.1 percentage points compared to the first release of the results for October.
All comparisons between successive periods are based on seasonally adjusted index numbers in constant prices. Comparisons between the current period and the corresponding period of the previous year are based on non-seasonally adjusted index numbers in constant prices.
