Exports, imports and net trade balance, December 2009
Export of goods decreased in December
In December 2009, Swedish exports of goods amounted to SEK 82.3 billion, while imports of goods amounted to 77.3 billion. As a result, the net trade surplus was SEK 5.0 billion.
Foreign trade resulted in a net trade surplus of SEK 5.0 billion in December 2009 according to preliminary calculations. The surplus for December 2008 was SEK 8.9 billion.
The value of exports in December 2009 amounted to SEK 82.3 billion, while imports were valued at SEK 77.3 billion. Compared to December 2008, exports decreased by 1 percent in value, while imports increased by 4 percent.
Trade with countries outside the EU resulted in a surplus of SEK 11.0 billion, while the EU trade resulted in a deficit of 6.0 billion.
The number of weekdays in December 2009 was one more than in December 2008.
Seasonally adjusted, the net trade surplus amounted to SEK 6.1 billion in December 2009, compared to 6.2 billion in November. The corresponding figure for October was SEK 6.5 billion.
Net trade 2009 showed surplus of SEK 92.3 billion
During 2009, the values of both exports and imports decreased by 17 percent, compared to 2008. Exports amounted to SEK 994.8 billion, and imports were valued at SEK 902.5 billion, resulting in a surplus net trade balance of SEK 92.3 billion for 2009. The corresponding surplus figure for 2008 was SEK 105.8 billion.
