Service Production Index, December 2009:

Service production drops in December

Swedish service production decreased by 1.4 percent in volume and working day adjusted figures in December 2009 compared to December 2008. Service production for the fourth quarter increased by 1.0 percent in seasonally adjusted series compared to the third quarter.

Wholesale trade decreased by 1.8 percent in volume and working day adjusted figures compared to the same period of the previous year. Furthermore, the volume of service production in the computer programming and transportation and storage decreased by 8.2 and 7.3 percent, respectively. Together these activities have a great impact on private service production development.
