The volume of sales for restaurants in May 2012 showed an increase of 5.6 percent compared to the same period last year. The volume of sales for cafes was strong and increased by 14.5 percent. From January 2012 the Restaurant Index includes VAT.
The volume of sales for hotell restaurants increased by 10.7 percent in May. Other types of restaurants with positive volumes of sales were roadside restaurants (+8.9 %) and fast food (+8.8%).
At the same time the turnover for restaurants increased by 5.7 percent in May compared to the same month last year.
