Wages and salaries in the private and public sector

These statistics compile wages and salaries in the private and public sectors. However they do not include any common wage concepts for the whole economy.

The base material is taken from three separate short-term business surveys regarding wages and salaries: Short-term statistics, wages and salaries in the private sector, SM AM 38, Short-term statistics, salaries in the governmental sector, SM AM 17 and Short-term statistics, salaries in municipalities and county councils, SM AM 49. These surveys are published separately.

It should be noted that the definitions and concepts are not completely harmonized between the different sectors. The wage and salary trend figures are comparable between the sectors but the wage and salary level figures should not be compared.

These statistics are the responsibility of  National Mediation Office
