The development of Service Producer Price Index
A majority of the SPPI: s, which exists today, has been developed since 2000. During the 1990:s SPPI for hotel services, domestic air transport services and non-residential property rent were developed. The main objective is to produce further SPPI: s according to the needs of the National Accounts and in accordance with EU Regulations. The development work is carried out in consultation with the “Swedish Industry and commerce for better regulation” (NNR), relevant industry organizations and with assistance from enterprises themselves. Developments in other countries are also monitored. An updated, practical and comprehensive system for production is being developed and, for the majority of the surveys, data will be collected with the help of Internet questionnaires.
The results of the development work (including industry descriptions) are documented in the Service Producer Price Index development project reports. These are available in both English and Swedish.

12. Air transport (goods and passengers)
13. Cargo handling
14. Storage and warehousing
15. Real estate activities on a fee or contract basis
16. Labour recruitment and provision of personnel
17. Investigation and security services
18. Industrial cleaning
19. Transport via railways
20. Urban and suburban scheduled passenger transport
21. Collection and treatment of waste, sanitation, remediation etc
22. Washing and dry-cleaning
23. Renting of other machinery and equipment
24. Market research and polling opinion
25. Business management consultancy
26. Technical testing and analysis
For the News agencies industry, price collection has started from the fourth quarter of 2008. During 2009 the index will be produced on a test basis. The index will be published earliest during 2010.
