The figure illustrates three types of emissions presented by adult eqivalents. The direct emissions come from the household’s consumption (the private consumption) of fuel and heating. The indirect emissions come from the production of goods and services in the Swedish private consumption. International indirect emissions come from the production of goods and services consumed in Swedish households, before being imported. All three types of emissions above sum up to the total emissions from private consumption in Sweden.

The emissions are distributed on household types, types of dwelling and income deciles. The income deciles are classified in ten groups with the lowest disposable income in decile one and the highest in decile ten. The tenth of the households with the largest disposable income is in group 10 and the tenth with the lowest income is found in group 1.

There are many different ways to present the results. Depending on if the result is presented in ton emissions, per household, per million SEK or per adult equivalent the result will differ (see the other figures).

For more information on methods behind the results as well as more interesting results see pdf-report ”Households in the environmental accounts" (380 kB).
