    Rise in households' deposits in funds

    Households' total net savings in funds amounted to SEK 6.5 billion during the first quarter of 2013. This was a contributing factor to the rise of close to SEK 24 billion in households' directly owned fund wealth in Swedish registered investment funds, totalling SEK 379 billion.

    Number of employees increased 1.2 percent

    During the first quarter of 2013 the number of employed persons amounted to 4 190 500, an increase of 1.2 percent. The number of employed persons in the private sector increased by 1.4 percent and by 0.7 percent in the public sector.

    Increased number of hours worked

    In April 2013 the number of employed persons aged 15-74 amounted to 4 642 000 persons. The number of unemployed persons amounted to 445 000, corresponding to an unemployment rate of 8.7 percent. This is an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to April 2012. The number of hours worked averaged 150.9 million per week, an increase of 1.6 percent compared to April 2012. Seasonally adjusted data shows a continued weakly increasing trend for the labour force as well as the number of employed and unemployed persons.

    Large amount of issues made in April

    At the end of April Swedish issuers had an outstanding debt in debt securities for a nominal value of SEK 5 895 billion. This corresponds to an increase of SEK 45 billion compared to March.

    During the 2000s half-siblings have become less common. An increasing proportion of children born today have only full siblings.
