Labour costs increased in October

The Labour Cost Index (AKI) for the private sector in October 2017 was 124.9 for wage earners and 128.3 for salaried employees. Compared to October 2016, labour costs have increased by 1.9 for wage earners and 2.4 percent for salaried employees.

Total labour costs include pay for hours worked, pay for hours not worked, other cash payments and payments in kind, costs for additional pension benefits, other collective fees, contributions to health insurance schemes, contributions to national basic supplementary pension schemes, sick pay, and a special payroll tax.
