Household consumption expenditures increased by 0.5 percent and general government consumption expenditures decreased by 0.2 percent, seasonally adjusted and compared with the previous quarter. Changes in inventories contributed to GDP growth by 0.1 percentage points. Gross fixed capital formation increased by 2.5 percent. Exports decreased by 0.2 percent and imports increased by 0.9 percent. Market production of goods and services increased by 0.8 percent, seasonally adjusted. Production of goods increased by 0.5 percent and service-producing industries grew by 0.9 percent. Employment measured as the total number of hours worked increased by 0.6 percent seasonally adjusted, and the number of persons employed increased by 1.2 percent.
