Sweden’s GDP grew 0.5 percent in third quarter of 2016

Sweden’s GDP increased by 0.5 percent in the third quarter of 2016, seasonally adjusted and compared with the second quarter of 2016. The GDP increased by 2.8 percent, working-day adjusted and compared with the third quarter of 2015.
Household consumption expenditures increased by 0.4 percent and general government consumption expenditures were stagnant, seasonally adjusted and compared with the previous quarter. Changes in inventories did not contribute to GDP growth. Gross fixed capital formation was stagnant. Exports increased by 1.3 percent and imports increased by 0.6 percent. Market production of goods and services increased by 0.5 percent, seasonally adjusted. Production of goods increased by 0.2 percent and service-producing industries grew by 0.7 percent. Employment measured as the total number of hours worked decreased by 0.1 percent seasonally adjusted, and the number of persons employed decreased by 0.3 percent.
