Inflation rate according to CPIF at 1.8 percent

The inflation rate according to the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) was 1.8 percent in October 2017, down from 2.3 percent in September. The CPIF decreased by 0.1 percent from September to October 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the CPIF rose by 0.4 percent. The inflation rate according to the CPI was 1.7 percent in October 2017.

The decrease in the CPI from September to October 2017 was mainly due to a price decrease on package holidays (-5.1 percent) and electricity (-2.1 percent), which contributed downwards by 0.1 percentage point each.

Various price increase were recorded in October, but none had any remarkable effect on the CPI.

The CPI for October 2017 was 323.38 (1980=100).

The inflation rate according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 1.7 percent in October 2017, down from 2.2 percent in September. The HICP decreased by 0.1 percent from September to October 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the HICP rose by 0.4 percent.
