Inflation rate according to CPIF 2.5 percent

The inflation rate according to the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) was 2.5 percent in September 2018 (2.2 percent in August). CPIF increased by 0.5 percent from August to September. In the corresponding period last year, the CPIF increased by 0.2 percent. The inflation rate according to the CPI was 2.3 percent in September (2.0 percent in August).
The price increase on clothing (7.4 percent) contributed 0.3 percentage point to the change in the CPI from August to September. Higher fuel prices (12.0 percent), other recreational items and equipment (3.1 percent), food (0.5 percent) and hotel rooms, weekdays (20.3 percent), each contributed 0.1 percentage point upwards.
This rise was offset by lower prices on international flights (-12.7 percent) and package holidays (-4.4 percent), each contributing 0.1 percentage point downwards in September.
The CPI for September 2018 was 331.14 (1980=100).
The inflation rate according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 2.5 percent in September 2018, up from 2.1 percent in August. The HICP increased by 0.5 percent from August to September. In the corresponding period last year, the HICP increased by 0.1 percent.
