Increased household consumption in April

Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2018-06-08 9.30

Household consumption increased by 0.5 percent in seasonally adjusted figures between March and April. During the last three-month period, consumption increased by 1.1 percent in seasonally adjusted figures. Household consumption increased by 3.1 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures in April 2018 compared with April 2017.

Transport and retail sales and service of motor vehicles was the activity with the largest weighted contribution to the total increase in consumption. The activity increased by 8.3 percent in fixed prices compared with the same period in the previous year. Prices according to the consumption deflator increased by 1.2 percent in April 2018 compared with April 2017.
