Household consumption increased in March

Household consumption increased by 0.5 percent in seasonally adjusted figures between February and March. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 0.8 percent in seasonally adjusted figures compared with the previous three-month period. Household consumption increased by 3.3 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures in March 2018 compared with March 2017.
The housing, electricity, gas and heating activity had the largest weighted contribution to the total increase in consumption. This activity increased by 4.6 percent in fixed prices compared with the same period in the previous year. In the first quarter of 2018, consumption increased by 2.2 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures compared with the same period in the previous year. Prices according to the consumption deflator increased by 1.5 percent in March 2018 compared with March 2017.
