Household consumption unchanged in May

Household consumption remained unchanged in seasonally adjusted figures between April and May. During the last three-month period, consumption increased by 1.9 percent in seasonally adjusted figures. Household consumption increased by 3.7 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures in May 2018 compared with May 2017.

Transport and retail sales and service of motor vehicles was the activity with the largest weighted contribution to the total increase in consumption. This activity increased by 11.3 percent in fixed prices compared with the same period in the previous year. Prices increased by 1.3 percent according to the consumption deflator.
