Discharges to water and sewage sludge production – Municipal waste water treatment plants, pulp and paper industry and other industry
The statistics describe discharges to water in Sweden from major point sources as well as the quality and use of the sludge produced in the treatment plants. The statistics include discharges from incensed municipal water treatment plants, pulp and paper industry and certain other coastal industries.

In 2018, total discharges of nutrients to water via municipal wastewater treatment plants subject to authorisation amounted to 270 tonnes of phosphorous, 15 000 tonnes of nitrogen, 6 500 tonnes of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD7), and 40 500 tonnes of chemical oxygen demand (COD-Cr), including some wastewater overflow at the plants.
