National Accounts, quarterly and annual estimates
Upcoming publishing: 2026-09-25
The National Accounts (NA) is an accounting system that summarises and describes the country's economic activities and development. The National Accounts include calculations of the Gross domestic product (GDP), real sector accounts and financial accounts.
2026-08-28: In connection to the regular release of the second quarter on August 28 figures for labour input for the year and quarters of 2024 have been corrected. The revision is needed to correct a time series break 2023/2024 that arose in the May publication of the annual accounts for the reference year 2024. The break was caused by a change in the definition of self-employed used by the statistical product Population by Labour market status (BAS). The error is limited to the business sector and NPISH but has an effect even on the total number of persons employed and the total number of hours worked. The error mainly affects industries with a high share of self-employed. As a result of the correction, labour costs for the business sector were slightly revised for the year and quarters of 2024.
At the same time, a minor error affecting the distribution of household consumption expenditure according to consumption purpose (COICOP) and durability has been corrected. The error affected the quarterly series for the years 2022-2024, but only year 2024 for the annual series. Total household consumption expenditure was not impacted.
