This survey is sent to the enterprises that have submitted income statements to the Swedish Tax Agency where the workplace number is either incomplete or missing.

Labour statistics based on administrative registers aim to provide annual information about employment, commuting and industrial structures, personnel structures in enterprises and at workplaces. These statistics also illustrate events and flows on the labour market based on longitudinal perspectives. The statistics are used in municipalities, county councils and regions as well as at government agencies.

Your response

Enterprises that have not submitted complete information concerning workplace numbers to the Swedish Tax Agency will receive a questionnaire from Statistics Sweden in April. Statistics Sweden checks the information about workplace number according to the act about workplace numbers (1984:533). The Obligation to provide information about workplace numbers is regulated by the Tax Procedure Act (2011:1244) . Failure to submit data may lead to a fine. When the information is published, no single company, workplace or individual will be able to be identified.

For confidentiality regarding the agency's specific task of the production of statistics, Chapter 24 Section 8 of the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (2009:400) applies . For the automatic handling of personal information, the rules in the Personal Data Act (1998:204) apply. Within the area of statistics, there are also specific rules on the handling of personal data in the Official Statistics Act (2001:99)   and the Official Statistics Ordinance (2001:100).
