The survey "ICT usage in enterprises" is an annual sample survey, which intends to measure and highlight the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in Swedish enterprises.

Swedish official statistics, which forms the basis for decision-making in Sweden and the EU, debate and research, will be produced using the collected data. For that reason, the survey should be answered even if the enterprise did not use ICT during the past year, as these answers are also important for the statistics.

What questions do we ask?

Approximately half of the questions should be answered based on how the situation was for the enterprise in January 2020 and the other half should be answered based on the situation in 2019.

The survey will include questions on ICT specialists and ICT skills, access to and use of the internet, sharing of information electronically within enterprise, ICT security and information security, E-commerce and ICT and environment.

Instructions

Please note that the information provided should only relate to the corporate entity whose name and organization number are on the form. ICT operations performed on assignment should not be reported, that is the answers should only relate to the enterprise's own operations.

For enterprises that have operations in several countries, the answers should only relate to the Swedish part of the business.

Survey timetable

The last reply day for the survey is April 24, 2020.

Frequently asked questions

Can we get a respite?

Yes, you may contact us via itanvandning@scb.se or on 010-479 60 65. Do not forget to mention your organization number.

Our enterprise does not use ICT. Do we have to answer?

Yes, since the survey measures the average ICT usage among Swedish enterprises, all answers are important, even from enterprises that do not use it.

What information do we need to provide if the enterprise is a part of a group?

The answers should only relate to the individual enterprise, i.e. the legal entity whose name and organization number is on the form. This means that enterprises that are part of a group consisting of several legal entities will only be responsible for the legal entity to which the survey is addressed (given that Statistics Sweden has not stated otherwise).

Do we have to report on activities performed on assignment?

No, the answers should only relate to the enterprise’s own activities.

Do we have to report on activities performed abroad?

No, enterprises that operate in several countries, should only answer for the Swedish part of the business.

On what time period do we need to report the information?

Approximately half of the survey will include questions on how the situation was for the enterprise in January 2020 and the remaining half will include questions on how the situation was in 2019.

Can I change my answers?

Yes, you can log in to the web form and change or add information. Remember, however, that you must “Submit” at the end of the form when you are finished.

Is the survey mandatory?

The obligation to provide information applies according to the Act (2001: 99) on the official statistics, since the survey is included in Sweden’s official statistics.

Publishing of the results

The results of the survey will be published in November 2020 on Statistics Sweden's website.
