The main topics on the agenda were updates on the ongoing negotiations on the Data Act and on the proposal for a regulation on data collection on short-term rental accommodation. The chairpersons from those working parties were invited to the meeting to give delegates the possibility to ask questions. The CWPS delegates took note of the state of play regarding the Data Act. Delegates had several questions on the proposal on short-term rental accommodation that will feed in to the WP on tourism.

The general priorities of the Swedish presidency were presented as was the plans for the CWPS. The main work for the presidency will be to initiate negotiations in the CWPS on the regulation on population and housing (ESOP), and to begin discussions with the European Parliament on the regulation for European statistics and the environmental accounts (EEA). It is also expected that a proposal on the revision of 223/2009 European statistics will be adopted by the Commission during the Swedish presidency.

A written consultation for ESOP is planned to be sent out as soon as the proposal has been adopted by the Commission. According to the current plan, it will be adopted shortly. In the next meeting, on February 15, Eurostat will be invited to present the proposal on ESOP and the delegates will be given a first opportunity to reflect on main issues identified in the proposal. At the meeting on 15 March, ESOP will be the main item on the agenda. For the EEEA, we expect the trilogues to start at the beginning of April.
