  • Still weak business cycle

    The state of the Swedish economy is still weak. In June 2025 11 of 13 indicators in the Business Cycle Clock were situated below their long-term trend.

  • Slowdown in the economy in the first quarter 2025

    The Swedish economy lost pace during the first quarter this year. GDP fell slightly compared to the previous quarter. The main reason was a large drop in fixed capital formation.   • Slight upturn in March

  • Economic Downturn

    For the second month in a row, activity in the Swedish economy declined as the GDP indicator fell significantly in February. However, one bright spot was that household consumption increased.   • Economic growth turned down in January

    The Swedish economy had increased growth in the end of 2024 but in January the GDP indicator dropped. Service production were still strong while manufacturing and building fell in January. Industrial new orders rose and was driven by strong demand from the export market.
