  • Stronger business cycle

    The Swedish business cycle has improved significantly over the past year. Eight of thirteen indicators in Statistics Sweden’s Business Cycle Clock had an upward trend in September 2025. Four of these indicators were situated in the expansion phase.

  • Recover in business cycle

    Statistic Sweden´s Business Cycle Clock shows that the Swedish business cycle were situated in the recovery phase in August 2025. 11 out of 13 indicators were below their long-term trend.

  • Stronger domestic economy

    The activity in the Swedish economy rose during the second quarter this year. The service sector was still leading. Household consumption and investments grew while negative net exports kept the GDP growth down.   • Still weak business cycle

    The state of the Swedish economy is still weak. In June 2025 11 of 13 indicators in the Business Cycle Clock were situated below their long-term trend.

  • Slowdown in the economy in the first quarter 2025

    The Swedish economy lost pace during the first quarter this year. GDP fell slightly compared to the previous quarter. The main reason was a large drop in fixed capital formation.
