  • Nearly 5.2 million dwellings in Sweden

    At the end of December 2022 there were 5 158 699 dwellings in Sweden. Among these, 2 125 269 (41 percent) were in one- or two-dwelling buildings, 2 675 269 (52 percent) were in multi-dwelling buildings, 278 546 (5 percent) were in special housing, and 79 615 (2 percent) were in other buildings.

  • Nearly 5.1 million dwellings in Sweden

    At the end of December 2021 there were 5 096 007 dwellings in Sweden. Among these, 2 115 329 dwellings (42 percent) were in one- or two-dwelling buildings, 2 626 837 (52 percent) were in multi-dwelling buildings, 272 754 (5 percent) were in special housing and 81 087 (2 percent) were in other buildings.

  • Norwegian ownership of Swedish holiday homes largest

    In Sweden, there were 38 152 holiday homes with foreign owners in 2021, which is a marginal increase compared with 2020. Norwegians account for the largest share (33 percent) of foreign ownership followed by Germans and Danes with 28 and 26 percent respectively.
