  • Household consumption decreased in February 2024

    Household consumption decreased by 0.5 percent in February 2024, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, compared with January 2024. Compared with February 2023, household consumption decreased by 0.3 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 0.3 percent compared with the same period a year ago, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures.

  • Retail sales volume increased in February 2024

    The retail sales volume increased by 0.5 percent in February 2024 compared with January 2024. Retail sales in consumables (excluding Systembolaget, the state-owned chain of liquor stores) increased by 0.7 percent while retail sales in durables increased by 0.1 percent. These figures are working-day and seasonally adjusted and calculated in fixed prices.

  • Largely unchanged restaurant sales in the fourth quarter of 2023

    The sales volume decreased in a majority of the restaurant categories during the fourth quarter of 2023 compared with the same period a year ago. Entertainment restaurants followed by cafés stood for the largest decline while hotel restaurants displayed the biggest increase.

  • Household consumption decreased in January 2024

    Household consumption decreased by 0.7 percent in January 2024, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, compared with December 2023. Compared with January 2023, household consumption decreased by 0.7 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption remained unchanged compared with the same period a year ago, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures.

  • Retail sales volume increased in January 2024

    The retail sales volume increased by 0.4 percent in January 2024 compared with December 2023. Retail sales in consumables (excluding Systembolaget, the state-owned chain of liquor stores) decreased by 0.3 percent while retail sales in durables increased by 1.3 percent. These figures are working-day and seasonally adjusted and calculated in fixed prices.
