Capacity utilisation in industry increased

Capacity utilisation in industry increased by 0.5 percentage points in the first quarter of 2019 compared with the fourth quarter of 2018 in seasonally adjusted figures.
This increased capacity utilisation in industry meant that the level of utilisation amounted to 91.0 percent in seasonally adjusted figures.
On an annual basis, capacity utilisation increased by 0.8 percentage points compared with the first quarter of 2018 and amounted to 91.0 percent in calendar adjusted figures.
The figures for the first quarter of 2019 are preliminary. Since the previous publication, capacity utilisation in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the third quarter of 2018 has been revised by 0.1 percentage points to 90.5 percent. The change in capacity utilisation in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year remains unchanged.
