Total funds asset exceed SEK 10,000 Billion

The total assets in Swedish funds increased almost 13 percent in the second quarter of 2026, the biggest relative increase since the second quarter of 2009. In absolute terms this was the first time when the increase were more than SEK 1,000 Billion in a single quarter. The net flow to funds of over SEK 100 Billion in the quarter were the highest in 12 years.
─ By the turn of the half year the total assets in Swedish funds reached SEK 10,000 Billion for the first time, says Malcolm Svensson Rothmaier, economist at Statistics Sweden’s Financial Market Statistics section.
At the end of the second quarter of 2026, the total assets in Swedish funds amounted to SEK 10,018 billion. This represents an increase of SEK 1,133 billion, equivalent to 12.8%, compared to the previous quarter.

Development for the second quarter in brief:
Investment funds' holdings in shares increased by 16.4 percent during the quarter (by SEK 999 billion to SEK 7,084 billion), for the first time over SEK 7,000 Billion.
Net investments in equity funds were positive, SEK 11 billion, in the quarter.

The average exchange rate for one Euro during the quarter was SEK 10.88 compared to SEK 10.69 during the previous quarter. The average exchange rate for one US dollar was SEK 9.36 compared to SEK 9.13 in the previous quarter.
Number of active funds in the statistics
In total, there were 858 active Swedish funds by the end of the second quarter, two more than at the end of previous quarter.
