Revisions

The monthly household consumption indicator is compiled using three methods and revised in stages as additional VAT return data become available. Up to 29 days after the end of the reference month, historical VAT return data are projected using card transaction data. From day 30 until aproximately 45 days after the end of the quarter, the initial projections are replaced by ID estimates based on reporting units that submitted VAT returns for both the reference month and the corresponding month of the previous year. The final statistics are based on all VAT returns for the reference month. The statistics are considered final when they are no longer covered by any planned revisions. At that point, the daily and weekly estimates are also finalised.

The seasonally adjusted series are always revised from January 2019 and forward.
