House prices remained unchanged

Real estate prices for one- or two-dwelling buildings remained unchanged in the last three-month period, from May to July 2018, compared with the previous period, from February to April 2018. In the last three-month period, from May to July 2018, prices rose by almost 1 percent on an annual basis compared with the same period last year.
Between the two most recent three-month periods, prices rose in 10 out of 21 counties. The largest increase, 3 percent, was reported in Jämtland County and Kalmar County. The largest decrease, 6 percent, was reported in Västernorrland County, followed by Dalarna County and Västmanland County at 3 percent. In the metropolitan areas of Greater Stockholm and Greater Malmö, prices declined by 1 percent, while prices in Greater Gothenburg remained unchanged.
Prices rose in 15 counties on an annual basis. The largest increase was reported in Blekinge County at 6 percent, followed by Kalmar County and Örebro County at 5 percent. In four counties, house prices declined. The largest decline was reported in Stockholm County at 6 percent, followed by Uppsala County at 2 percent. In the metropolitan areas of Greater Gothenburg and Greater Stockholm, prices declined by 2 and 6 percent, respectively, while prices in Greater Malmö rose by 2 percent.
The average price at the national level for one- or two-dwelling buildings in the period from May to July 2018 was almost SEK 3 million.
