Sweden’s GDP grew 0.8 percent in second quarter

Sweden’s GDP increased by 0.8 percent in the second quarter of 2018, seasonally adjusted and compared with the first quarter of 2018. GDP increased by 2.5 percent, working-day adjusted and compared to the second quarter of 2017.

Household consumption expenditures rose by 0.9 percent and government consumption expenditures increased by 0.3 percent seasonally adjusted and compared with the previous quarter. Changes in inventories contributed to GDP growth by 0.6 percentage points in the second quarter. Gross fixed capital formation decreased by 0.5 percent. Exports grew by 0.4 percent and imports grew by 0.8 percent. Market production of goods and services increased by 0.9 percent, seasonally adjusted. Production of goods rose by 0.2 percent and service-producing industries rose by 1.3 percent. Employment measured as the total number of hours worked rose by 0.8 percent seasonally adjusted and the total number of persons employed rose by 0.2 percent seasonally adjusted.
