Inflation rate according to CPI at 1.7 percent

The inflation rate according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 1.7 percent in June 2017, unchanged from May. The Swedish Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.1 percent from May to June 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the CPI increased by 0.1 percent.

Price increases on package holidays (22.2 percent) contributed 0.3 percentage point to the change from May to June. Increased prices on international flights (24.7 percent) contributed 0.2 percentage point and banking services (9.6 percent) contributed 0.1 percentage point.

The increase was offset by a price decrease on clothing (-5.3 percent), which contributed 0.3 percentage point downwards. In addition, a price decrease on vehicle fuels and lubricants (-2.3 percent) and lower costs for electricity and fuels (-1.7 percent) each contributed 0.1 percentage point downwards from May to June.

The CPI for June 2017 was 321.97 (1980=100).

The inflation rate according to the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF) was 1.9 percent in June, unchanged from May. The CPIF rose by 0.1 percent from May to June 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the CPIF increased by 0.1 percent.

The inflation rate according to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was 1.8 percent in June 2017, unchanged from May. The HICP rose by 0.1 percent from May to June 2017. In the corresponding period last year, the HICP increased by 0.1 percent.
