Transport and travel agency services increases service prices

The Service Producer Price Index increased by 1.3 percent from the first quarter of 2019 to the second quarter of 2019. Since the second quarter of 2018, the Service Producer Price Index has increased by 2.5 percent. The corresponding annual rate in the previous quarter was 1.6 percent.
Changes during the last quarter
The quarterly change from the first to the second quarter of 2019 is the largest quarterly change since 2005, when the measurement of the Service Producer Price Index began. The main upward contributors in the second quarter were higher prices for land transport services, travel agency services and rental and operating services of own or leased real estate. Furthermore, higher prices on support services for transportation, air transport services as well as hotel and similar accommodation services contributed to the upturn. Publishing services, computer programming, consultancy and related services, architectural and engineering services and related technical consulting services along with rental and leasing services contributed further to the upturn.
