Changes in the last month

Regarding the development in the domestic, export and import markets, the monthly rate of change was positive in all markets in September. This resulted in a positive monthly rate of change for both Producer Price Index and Price Index for Domestic Supply during the same period.

The main upward contribution in the domestic market came from higher prices for trade services of electricity. Higher prices for petroleum products had a major impact to the upturn as well. Price increases for basic chemicals, basic metals and district heating also contributed to the upturn. This upturn was partially offset by price decreases for food products.

In the export market the main upward contribution came from higher prices for refined petroleum products. Prices also rose for generation of electricity, motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, basic metals, basic chemicals, other machinery and equipment, paper and paper products, electrical equipment and food products.

The main contribution to the increase in the import market came from higher prices for crude oil. Refined petroleum products had a major impact to the upturn as well. Prices also rose for natural gas, computer, electronic and optical products, basic metals, electrical equipment, basic chemicals, other machinery and equipment, motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, food products, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations and generation of electricity.
