Negative result for county council-owned enterprises

After two years with a positive annual result, county council-owned enterprises reported a loss in 2015. The result was minus SEK 335 million compared with SEK 96 million in 2014, a decrease of SEK 431 million. The reason for the negative result is an increase in financial costs, while appropriations decreased.

The balance sheet total was SEK 79 billion, which is an increase of SEK 10 billion compared with year 2014.

Return on equity in 2015 dropped by 0.4 percentage points to -4.4 percent among county council-owned enterprises. The equity ratio decreased by 1.8 percentage points to 15.3 percent.

Improved results for municipally-owned companies

The municipally-owned companies improved results by SEK 2.9 billion compared with 2014. The reported profit in 2015 was SEK 14.9 billion.

The balance sheet of municipally-owned companies amounted to SEK 1 261 billion in 2015, an increase of SEK 98 billion.

Return on equity decreased from 6.9 percent to 6.5 percent in 2015. The equity ratio increased from 21.6 percent to 23.1 percent.

Positive result for state-owned companies

The reported annual result was positive for state-owned enterprises and amounted to SEK 22 billion. This is an increase of SEK 28.4 billion compared with 2014. The reason for the improved result was primarily an increase in net financial items and appropriations, which together have increased by SEK 57 billion since last year.

The balance sheet total amounted to SEK 1 846 billion, which was an increase of SEK 80 billion compared with year 2014.

In 2015, state-owned companies reported a return on equity of 3.7 percent. This is an increase of 3.6 percentage points compared with the previous year. The equity ratio decreased by 2.2 percentage points to 24.2 percent in 2015.
