Household consumption increased in November year-on-year
Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2020-01-14 9.30
Household consumption increased by 2.3 percent in November, compared with November 2018 measured in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 2.8 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures, compared with the same period a year ago. Household consumption remained unchanged in seasonally adjusted figures compared with October.
The largest weighted positive contributions were in the sector Transport and retail sales and service of motor vehicles, which increased by 3.7 percent in fixed prices compared with November a year ago.
Recreation and culture, goods and services had the largest weighted negative contribution to total consumption and decreased by 0.4 percent in fixed prices compared with November a year ago. However, in working day adjusted figures, the sector increased by 0.4 percent.
Prices increased by 1.6 percent according to the consumption deflator.
Revision due to methodological change
In connection with the publication of reference period November 2019, the statistics have been revised starting from April 2016. This revision is due to a methodological change related to correction for observations missing in administrative data.
