Childbirth continues to decline in the first half of 2025

2025-08-21

A continued decrease in the number of children born, low immigration and high emigration have resulted in low population growth in the first half of 2025. At the end of 2025, 10 592 700 people were registered in Sweden, which was an increase of 5 000 people since the beginning of the year.
