The statistics are based on samples and registers and are designed to measure monthly turnover trends in retail trade and quarterly wholesale trade and other service industries. The survey is coordinated with other economy-based surveys.

In connection with the publication of the reference month December 2023 for the Turnover in retail trade and the Monthly indicator for household consumption, the statistics have been corrected for periods April 2023 to November 2023. Please see the latest statistical news for more information.

Retail sales volume increased in February 2024

The retail sales volume increased by 0.5 percent in February 2024 compared with January 2024. Retail sales in consumables (excluding Systembolaget, the state-owned chain of liquor stores) increased by 0.7 percent while retail sales in durables increased by 0.1 percent. These figures are working-day and seasonally adjusted and calculated in fixed prices.
