Changes in the classification of R&D and Ericsson AB

Following international recommendations, from November 2016, Statistics Sweden has departed from the principle that R&D is to be regarded as support activities. This means that more enterprises than before are present in industry 72 in the Swedish Standard Industrial Classification 2007.
In this context, Statistics Sweden has also chosen to reclassify Ericsson AB from main industry 26300 (Manufacture of communication equipment) to 62010 (Computer programming activities) and to divide the enterprise into four activity units
- 26300 - Manufacture of communication equipment
- 58290 - Other software publishing
- 62010 - Computer programming activities
- 72190 - Other research and experimental development on natural sciences and engineering
In surveys reported at operational level, information about the enterprise will be available under these four industries.
