Capacity utilisation in industry increased

Capacity utilisation in industry increased by 0.6 percentage points in the second quarter of 2018 compared with the first quarter of 2018 in seasonally adjusted figures.
This increased capacity utilisation in industry meant that the level of utilisation increased to 90.9 percent in seasonally adjusted figures.
On an annual basis, capacity utilisation increased by 0.1 percentage points compared with the second quarter of 2017 and was 91.2 percent in calendar adjusted figures.
The figures for the second quarter of 2018 are preliminary. Since the previous publication, capacity utilisation for the first quarter of 2018 compared with the fourth quarter of 2017 has been revised downwards by 0.3 percentage points to 90.3 percent. The change in capacity utilisation in the first quarter of 2018 compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous year has been revised downwards by 0.3 percentage points to an increase of 0.1 percentage points.
