Increased capacity utilisation in industry

Capacity utilisation in industry increased by 0.5 percentage points in the second quarter of 2017 compared with the first quarter of 2017 in seasonally adjusted figures.
The increased capacity utilisation in industry meant that the level of utilisation increased to 90.7 percent in seasonally adjusted figures.
On an annual basis, capacity utilisation increased by 1.5 percentage points compared with the second quarter of 2016 and showed a 91.0 percent level of utilisation in calendar adjusted figures.
The figures for the second quarter of 2017 are preliminary. Since the previous publication, the development of the capacity utilisation for the first quarter of 2017 compared with the fourth quarter of 2016 has increased by 0.2 percentage points to an increase of 0.6 percentage points. The change in capacity utilisation in the first quarter of 2017 compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous year has been revised upwards by 0.2 percentage points to an increase of 0.9 percentage points.
