Sweden’s GDP grew 0.9 percent in fourth quarter

Sweden’s GDP increased by 0.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2017, seasonally adjusted and compared with the third quarter of 2017. GDP increased by 3.3 percent, working-day adjusted and compared with the fourth quarter of 2016.
Household consumption expenditures rose by 0.6 percent and government consumption expenditures increased by 0.4 percent, seasonally adjusted and compared with the previous quarter. Changes in inventories contributed to GDP growth by 0.3 percentage points in the fourth quarter. Gross fixed capital formation decreased by 1.3 percent. Exports increased by 2.4 percent and imports increased by 1.2 percent. Market production of goods and services increased by 0.9 percent, seasonally adjusted. Production of goods rose by 1.3 percent and service-producing industries rose by 0.6 percent. Employment, measured as the total number of hours worked, increased by 1.0 percent, seasonally adjusted and the total number of persons employed rose by 0.4 percent.
