During the last year, higher energy prices have clearly affected the import price index upwards, electricity prices have risen by 109.5 percent, while crude oil prices increased by 56.8 percent. The export price index rises annually, mainly due to high export prices for energy related goods, which have increased by 48.4 percent.

Domestic supply prices have increased by 9.1 percent on an annual basis. On the domestic market, prices have increased by 6.8 percent.

Changes during the last month

Unusually high electricity prices were the main contributor to the increase on the domestic, export and import markets from June to July 2018. On the other hand, the upturn on all markets was slightly counteracted by lower prices for basic precious and other non-ferrous metals.

On the import market higher prices for crude oil and for computer, electronic and optical products contributed to the rise of the import price index during the last month.
Higher export prices for paper and paper products have mainly contributed to the rise of the export price index on a monthly basis.
