Producer prices unchanged in May 2017

Statistical news from Statistics Sweden 2017-06-27 9.30

Producer prices remained unchanged between April and May. In the same period, prices increased 0.5 percent on the export market and 0.3 percent on the import market. Prices decreased 0.6 percent on the domestic market.

Domestic supply, that is, producer prices on the domestic and import markets together, decreased by 0.2 percent from April to May.

Changes during the last month

On the export market, increased prices for motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers and pulp, paper and paperboard contributed to the upturn. Increased prices for food products and computers, electronic and optical products contributed to the upturn on the import market. The upturn was counteracted by lower prices for crude oil. On the domestic market, a seasonal decrease in price for district heating contributed to the downturn.

Changes during the last year

In the last year, producer prices, that is producer prices on the domestic and export markets together, have increased by 7.2 percent, which is the same as in April. Prices on the export and the import market increased by 9.2 and 8.4 percent, respectively. On the domestic market, prices increased by 5.1 percent in the same period. Prices for domestic supply increased by 6.7 percent compared with May last year.
