Household consumption increased in February

Household consumption increased by 0.5 percent in seasonally adjusted figures between January and February. During the last three-month period, consumption increased by 0.2 percent in seasonally adjusted figures compared with the previous three-month period. Household consumption increased by 1.7 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures in February 2018 compared with February 2017.
Housing, electricity, gas and heating was the activity with the largest weighted contribution to the total increase in consumption. The activity increased by 2.9 percent in fixed prices compared with the same period in the previous year. During the first two months of the year, consumption increased by 1.5 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures compared with the same period in the previous year. Prices according to the consumption deflator increased by 1.7 percent in February 2018 compared with February 2017.
