Increased household consumption

Household consumption increased by 1.1 percent in seasonally adjusted figures between December and January. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 0.6 percent compared with the previous three-month period. Household consumption increased by 2.1 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures in January 2017 compared with January 2016.

Recreation and culture, goods and services, the activity with the largest weighted contribution to the increase in consumption,increasedby 7.2 percent in fixed prices and working day adjusted figures compared with the same period in the previous year. In November 2016–January 2017, consumption increased by 2.4 percent compared with the same period in the previous year. Prices according to the consumption deflator increased by 0.8 percent in January 2017 compared with January 2016.
