Turnover in the service sector

The aim of statistics on turnover in the service sector is primarily to measure the development of turnover, monthly for retail trade and quarterly for wholesale trade and other services. The statistics are principally used as a basis for the national accounts’ GDP calculations and for economic analysis. Statistics on retail trade are produced in cooperation with the Swedish Research Institute of Trade.

Statistics Sweden has been assigned by Visita to study turnover in the restaurant industry. The survey is a part of the monthly turnover statistics. In addition, the information from this survey is used by different trade associations, enterprises, government agencies and others.

Instructions

The survey asks enterprises for information about total turnover during the relevant period. Calculations are then made and the results are presented on the industry level.

Time plan

Letters with information about user name and password are sent out at the end of each month and at the end of each quarter in the survey. The final date for replying is the 15th of the month of each month or at the end of the quarter.
