  • Households borrow less and less

    Household liquid savings amounted to SEK 11 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2023. This is SEK 23 billion higher compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the annual growth rate of household loans was 0,3 percent.

  • Households reduced their savings in bank accounts

    Household liquid savings amounted to SEK 22 billion at the end of the third quarter of 2023. This is SEK 14 billion higher compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the annual growth rate of household loans was 0,8 percent.

  • High savings and low borrowing

    Household liquid savings amounted to SEK 114 billion at the end of the second quarter of 2023. This is SEK 67 billion higher compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the annual growth rate of household loans was 1,3 percent.

  • Households are borrowing less and less

    Household liquid savings amounted to SEK 51 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2023. This is SEK 28 billion higher compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the annual growth rate of household loans was 2.5 percent.

  • Decline in the growth rate of household saving

    The end of 2022 concluded the first full year since the pandemic. The years 2020 and 2021 were heavily affected by extensive restrictions which changed the household savings behavior. The high household savings that were registered during the pandemic years are now decreasing. For the fourth quarter of 2022, Savings Barometer focuses on some parts of households' total savings to better reflect this development.
