Household consumption nearly unchanged in July 2025

Household consumption increased by 0.2 percent in July 2025, measured in seasonally adjusted figures, compared with June 2025. Compared with July 2024, household consumption increased by 2.4 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. In the last three-month period, consumption increased by 2.1 percent compared with the same period a year ago, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures.

Consumption in the four largest weighted sectors in the indicator showed different developments on a monthly basis. Retail trade, mostly food and beverages and Recreation and culture, goods and services increased by 2.3 and 0.4 percent respectively in seasonally adjusted figures, while Transport and retail sales and service of motor vehicles and Housing, electricity, gas and heating showed decreases of 2.6 and 0.7 percent respectively compared with June 2025.

On an annual basis, consumption increased in three of the four largest weighted sectors in the indicator. Recreation and culture, goods and services had the largest increase, up 8.5 percent, measured in constant prices and working day adjusted figures. Transport and retail sales and service of motor vehicles and Retail trade, mostly food and beverages increased by 2.8 and 1.5 percent respectively compared to July 2024, while Housing, electricity, gas and heating was unchanged.
