The Civil Society is an annual report that presents financial data of the civil society. The statistics are based on data collected from existing surveys at Statistics Sweden.

The report includes:

• Employment in the civil society by men and women
• Income and expenses of non-profit organisations
• Public sector funding of the civil society
• Regional statistics
• Satellite accounts for the civil society

What are satellite accounts?

Satellite accounts are used for describing and analysing the economy for a specific purpose. They are not intended to provide an overview of the national economy, but to target what is relevant for the specific purpose, in this case the civil society. Satellite accounts can be used to display details that are not visible in the main aggregated system of national accounts.
